Information we collect

- place an order through the online shop;
- book a tour or training event;
- buy or redeem a gift voucher;
- purchase or access a digital product;
- make a payment by EFT or through Payfast;

- take part in a fundraising project, promotion, survey or similar activity.
The current Shop website does not require customer registration for purchases and does not currently collect newsletter subscriptions directly through the Shop website.

- payment status and payment reference information;
- tour or training booking details;
- voucher details;
- communication records between you and us;

Payments
EFT payments
If you choose EFT, we may process your name, order number, payment reference, payment amount and proof of payment in order to match your payment to your order.
Payfast payments
If you choose Payfast, you will be redirected to Payfast’s secure payment pages to complete payment. Payfast processes the payment and then confirms the payment result back to the shop.
We do not store your credit card details on this website.

Tour and training bookings
For tour and training bookings, we may use your personal information to:
- confirm your booking;
- communicate tour or training details;
- manage participant numbers;
- prepare invoices or booking records;
- communicate route, timing, accommodation, meal or logistical information;
- deal with cancellations, refunds or credits;
- manage safety-related communication before or during a tour or training event.
Where accommodation, meals, venues, guides or other third-party service providers are involved, we may share only the information reasonably needed to manage the relevant booking or service.
If a tour or training booking requires additional practical information, such as dietary requirements, emergency contact details, vehicle details or other safety-related information, we will use that information only for the relevant booking, logistics, safety or support purpose.
Digital products and vouchers
For digital products, downloads and vouchers, we may use your personal information to:
- confirm your purchase;
- provide access to a download, file, link or voucher code;
- assist if you have trouble accessing a digital product;
- manage voucher redemption; and

Please keep any download links, access details or voucher codes safe. If you share a voucher code or access link with someone else, we may not be able to prevent that person from using it.
Email communications
The Shop website does not currently collect newsletter subscriptions directly.
If you subscribe to a Mountain Passes South Africa newsletter through another Mountain Passes South Africa website or subscription process, your subscription will be handled according to the privacy terms that apply to that website or subscription process.
We may use mailing and email delivery systems, including SMTP2GO, to manage and send email communications where applicable. SMTP2GO acts as an email delivery service and may process email-related information for the purpose of sending messages on our behalf.

We will not add you to a marketing mailing list through the Shop website simply because you placed an order, unless you have separately subscribed or the law allows us to contact you and you have not opted out.
